Working with faithful churches in Lahore and Faisalabad, MERF proclaims the gospel in the Urdu language by radio and TV broadcasting. A seminary in Lahore trains and supports local pastors and evangelists in gospel ministry.
Many Christians in Pakistan are descendants of low-caste Hindus who converted to Christ, a result they regularly face discrimination because of both their status and faith. Consequently, alongside the work in the churches, medical clinics are provided as a ministry of mercy in Christ’s name to the local community. Numerous literacy centres are organised to increase educational and employment opportunities; and, five Christian schools provide good education for the children of poor Pakistani believers, teaching around 2,750 children.
